NEW DEPECHE MODE AND IT IS VERY GOOD.

That's alright, and I say this as someone who is pretty limited to only DM singles. I'm guessing Anton Corbijn directed the video? Looks like his stark contrast b & w style, which does well to make the guys look exceedingly aged.
Both of them look super old. Hard living, being painfully thin and, in Martin's case, over tanning...well, it ages a person! I'm trying to find out if AC directed - I assume so.

He did.

Due for release on March 24, the synth-pop legends’ 15th studio album ‘Memento Mori’ comes previewed by ‘Ghosts Again’ and its video by their legendary longtime visual collaborator Anton Corbijn.

I've been listening to it over and over again and crying at my work desk. I am a moody teen again.

No band does dark and joyful simultaneously as well as DM.

It's solid. Looking forward to the album.

I just love when Martin harmonizes in the background. He's got a very soulful voice, but it can be often too trill-y and overpowering when he's the lead.

Seeing them April 5th. Can't wait.

That's great JB. I'm jealous.

Yes and he produces, makes the tea and then goes on the internet to slag them off for having very little knowledge.

Insect Ark, The Vanishing. I'd never heard of Dana Schechter until I learned she's playing with Swans on their upcoming tour, so I decided to check out her work (she is, I gather, the sole consistent member of Insect Ark). No surprise, I suppose, that this is pretty heavy, thick, doomy/gloomy stuff. Drinkin'/smokin' dope in the dark by yourself kind of music. Gotta be in the mood for it, but when you're feeling sour, I think this is your soundtrack.

Holy smokes, this cover of Dylan's Changing of the Guards (one of my Dylan faves) by Frank Black and the Catholics is utterly superb:
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

The only good thing about that Dan unpleasantness has been me revisiting something so much better.
