Hello,

Gary Myrick and the Figures - S/T. It's still a good album. There's a bit of dated-ness to it but the good stuff comes through. I remember buying the 45 of She Talks in Stereo and wanting the album. I had to hold off and didn't get this until after I bought Havana 3 AM. The recent mention of Havana 3 AM elsewhere prompted me to dig this out. The live stuff added on is nice plus. Guitar-oriented rock - kind of new wave/power pop. It's worth a listen.

If Pierce Brosnan starred in one more Bond film in 2004, this would have been the theme.

Part 79 of, 'Why The Fuck Was This A B-Side?'

One of the most beautiful songs ever.

Possibly my favourite song of the 2010s. A beautifully constructed song.

A Small Faces rarity/outtake that I've somehow never heard before. Production is incredible on this, especially the drums. The Who and Beatles never sounded this good in 1967...

Love the chord sequence and the way it stumbles into the chorus, simply beautiful.

Yeah that's another good one, mind you I'm going through her singles now and haven't had a bad one yet. Try is another fantastic track.

Yeah. I'm not a big fan of post-2000 pop but she's had a steady run of good songs over many years now.

Taking a break from Bob's new record (which rules) to inundate myself with some Merle:

Merle Haggard - Down Every Road (1962-1994)

Merle was great through all phases of his career and this is a pretty deep dive into his catalog.

This is a great set. I first got into his 60's stuff, but through this collection I also got into everything else.

Inspired by Flex's Merle Haggard selection, I'm spinning this today. It took awhile to track down this Bear Family collection at a reasonable price, but well worth it. Wynn was/is the King of the Bakersfield Sound. He helped Buck Owens get his first recording contract with Capitol and a young Hag played in his band (Wynn wrote Haggard's first hit single). The great Ralph Mooney is on peddle steel. I find it crazy (and sad) that he isn't more well known.

This sounds awesome, I'll keep an eye out for the Bear Family at a good price.

Oh this one is good. I’m not going to pretend I didn’t “acquire” this through dubious means, but it’s great.

Wow, is this the 10 CD box set? Nice.
