Waltzing Madilda is an inspired choice, a great war song and was just made for MacGowan and think the Pogues definitely qualify as punk.
Lot of good SLF contenders, but my choice would be Wasted Life, their most brutal and savage indictment of the Northern Ireland conflict, if anybody else was tackling it in such a head on fashion as early as the late-70s in any cultural form, then I haven't heard or read it.

It would sound like WBTCORNR but backwards.

I must admit that I played it after I posted it and spotted some flaws in my suggestion!Marky Dread wrote:Great!laxman wrote:Side 1 of Join Hands

Re: Heston's Friday Top 5
The overall feeling of the album is kind of post war from the cover art through the songs and even including the out of place Lords Prayer. Placebo Effect and Icon are simply great.laxman wrote:I must admit that I played it after I posted it and spotted some flaws in my suggestion!Marky Dread wrote:Great!laxman wrote:Side 1 of Join Hands
