Listening to this track earlier
reminded me of how much Nilsson borrowed the whole feel for this.

Oh yeah mine too.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑23 Jan 2020, 4:01pmI swear, after all these years, whenever I play it I still get a weird sensation in my head when it starts. Lazy bastards. But the drums on TNK are so hypnotic—one of my favourites on any song—whereas on TTR they're not really noticeable.Marky Dread wrote: ↑23 Jan 2020, 3:44pmI never realised until this morning the drum pattern from "Tomorrow Never Knows" is incredibly reminiscent of "Ticket to Ride".Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑23 Jan 2020, 2:49pmQuelle coincidence—I did my Beatles lecture today, with some attention paid to "Tomorrow Never Knows" as the dividing line.
1. Tomorrow Never Knows [my favourite Beatles song, still sounds fresh and trippy]
2. She Said She Said
3. And Your Bird Can Sing
4. I'm Only Sleeping
5. For No One

I imagine most have heard this alternate take of TNK, which was on Anthology. A more conventional and less obvious drum track and fewer effects than the final version, like a campfire version, but even this one is really compelling.

I'm surprised by the love for For No One.

IMMENSE track.
I like this top 5 idea, Marky. Would be good to do a few albums.

I second that, tho in no small part because my brain often melts into goo when trying to work on themes.

5 seems a lot for an album list basically half the album unless you are The Clash of course

This would just be several permutations of the same tracks (I've been dying to use permutations in a comment).

That would be better than 5.

Ha! My challenge to you, my friend, is to use the word permutation in your next five posts. A shiny new condor egg will be your reward should you succeed!

If I did, I'd try to spread them out so it would have the same content per mutation.

Unless Marky wants to make it 3?
