I might be in the extreme minority, but I've never disliked that song. I don't love it, but it doesn't make me cringe. It's like Sunshine Jangle Pop with some absolutely wonderful backing vocals from Mike Mills and Kate Pierson. Peter Buck brings out the Reckoning era Rickenbacker sound, too.

Even if R.E.M. became exceedingly boring and tuneless toward the end, that song is irritatingly inane (even if purposefully so). There are two R.E.M. songs that I loathe: that and "Losing My Religion" (tho I confess that its art school final project video is what really made me hate it). I can even tolerate "Everybody Hurts" over those two.

I played the heck out of that LP when it came out - to the point where I could not listen to Losing My Religion for years. I gave it another go at some point and found that I like it, but yes - the video... no thanks.
