As I listen to more of Mike Love's memoir, I've been listening to more non-famous Beach Boys songs (as well as revisiting some singles). I ask you all, what the fuck is this?!?

Probably one of the least-good pre-80s songs in the canon. Love has actually written better songs about TM- check out "All This is That" which they actually played during the 50th anniversary tour.

Okay, that's better (low bar, yes). Love's obvious ego—in the book and in general—is, shall we say, at odds with TM and the Maharishi. He doesn't even try to reconcile any of that in the book, such as spiritualism and making as much money as possible so you can have fifty cars. Of course, Harrison had the same inconsistencies in his life.

The fun will be watching Mike Love's tells when he talks about how much he loves and respects Pet Sounds. Savage blinking, licking lips, perhaps.

Wild Honey is the one that Carl is screaming the whole time right?

This reminded me to change my avatar for summer
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Was he recreating Jack Nicholson's "Here's Johnny" scene in The Shining?

The larger version of the photo shows it is clearly 'shopped.
