What's best is that I could clearly hear his voice saying those words.

That seems like a great actor who's never won a Best Actor Oscar getting one for a mediocre role but the voters think they have to rectify past slights. Cos that is one dull and forgettable song.

I've probably listened to 15 times since it came out, great song, imho

Unrelated, but I talked to a friend today about how I've been listening to Tidal's Essential Bob Dylan playlist (which includes Murder Most Foul now) and they put Tight Connection To My Heart right after Blowin' in the Wind and I almost tripped over myself I was so startled by the jarring musical shift. Good times.

"Tight Connection" is a fuckin great song and shoulda been on 'Infidels'. The earlier version with Little Steven (from 'Bootleg Series Vol. 1') is even better. And I too think "Murder Most Foul" is great.

Good song, awful production - especially when stood up next to blowing in the wind. Agreed the earlier version is better.

Seems to have a high opinion of himself.

Murder Most Foul may have been a Tempest outtake, but this sounds post-sinatra covers albums to me. Love it.

Just sounds to me he's having a bit of fun here, in a kind of self mockingly ironic way, sort of leonard cohenish like. Whatever, i think it's great.

Totally agree. Self aware, taking the piss Bob is such a good mode. Rumors of a new album have me excited.

Will definitely look forward to that. There's something about great artists facing their career winters that fascinates me, like with Cohen and Cash, Glen Campbell etc. Though hopefully dylan around for a good while yet.

Yup. This may seem like heresy to His Bobness, but my two favorite albums of his these days are probably 'Love & Theft' and 'Tempest'. His use of language has never been better, imo, and his band since 2000 and the sound of his records are stellar. Plus his voice and phrasing these days just nails it. (on record, at least)
