Wolt mentioned this on Twitter the other day. I have no idea what it is. I just picture it sounding like Suicide with lyrics about dragon tears. :shifty:

It's closer to sounding like a really angry My Bloody Valentine shrieking about global warming.

Anytime I see one of these genre neologisms I know I'm going to hear music without a single catchy hook or riff.

It's a terrible descriptor, to be honest. Most post-metal bands hate it.

Pat and I watched the Paul Lynde Halloween Special tonight. Pat seemed taken by some pervert with a long tongue in a rock and roll combo called The Kisses [sic]. Lynde used to be a superb center square but he's trawling the sewers with these transvestites. - excerpt from Richard Nixon's diary, 29 October 1976

Also, don't know a lot about post-metal, but apparently Neurosis is post metal and I know them because I worked at a movie theater with a kid that LOVED them and his dad wrote the Mortal Kombat (1995) movie.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
