The Long Ryders 'Metallic B.O.' cassette

Post by JohnS »

Does anyone have a copy of this cassette for sale/loan*, or know where I can download it? I know it was reissued on CD but omitted some tracks.
(I've found some blogs where it was available, but they're all pretty old and the download links are long-deleted.)
According to Sid Griffin:
"Metallic B.O. on cassette was 89 minutes long & on CD 76 minutes long
(we cut a couple of low fidelity tunes and some silly chatter)
It sold THOUSANDS for us on cassette and paid off some legal debts the Long Ryders had!"

It may have sold thousands, but every flamin' one of them is still in the collection of its buyer - I can't track down a copy anywhere

(* if anyone's ok about mailing me a copy, I'd be happy to transfer it to a couple of CDRs for them and return it all ASAP )

I used to own the cassette back in the day but sadly sold it when I needed some dough. However I am pretty sure I made a cassette to cassette copy of it. I will check my loft when I get a chance and get back to you.

Nice find rcs - thanks. It took me 2hrs to download but was worth it.
It is, for the record, the CD version but I was pleased to find it includes a lot of the chat/spoken word interludes, uncredited and tagged on at the end of the songs. I had a strange compulsion to hear such things as Paul Weller, Roger Daltrey and, er, Phil Collins while reviewing (I think) Lewis & Clark single, and it's all in there.
The full cassette edit will be out there somewhere, but this is great for now.

Cassette version is meant to be here, but I've got 'blocked domain' when I've tried.

That's an old Rapidshare upload no longer in use.

Marky, you're a star! Not just the tape but artwork/notes too. This is above and beyond the call of duty - hand me that box of medals, someone.
If this transfer was all your own work, thanks so much. And if it wasn't all your own work at all, thank you so much too

Hi John, no I can't take credit for it as I found it on my old hard drive. I don't remember where I got it now but whoever it was did an ace job. Been playing it and forgot what great fun it is.
