1977 always seemed a bit of a throwaway to me and a blatant rip off.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Excuse the bluntness but 1977 and 1-2 are pretty crap songs. Get em both out and you're left with pure quality this poll.

Voted 1977 anyhow.

1977 is awesome and total punk rock in it's sentiment. I'm also baffled at the "blatant rip off". Yes I know where it gets it's riff from but are you going to level the same criticism at London Calling when we get to it?

LC was a bit more subtle. I still like 1977, I'm just having to find reasons to jettison songs as I like most of the Clash's material except Junkie Slip and Sex Mad Roar.
