Mag 7 is fucking great, of course. Das Kapital to an old skool hip hop/punk hybrid beat.

This is insane. An all-timer is about to get the boot for a kind of pedestrian album track.

Wrong. It looks like Mag 7 is getting the boot.

So... I have an embarrassing confession that could be extremely disruptive and controversial. Despite my telling tep in this thread how we vote, I ended up voting FOR SAE when I meant to vote off mag 7 (as documented in my original post in this thread). So, uh, mulligan?

Faux addendum: I've gone back and checked all my other votes in all the other rounds, and this is the first time I've done this. Yikes.

So, lemme get this straight: LC, the heavy, cynical, and classic song gets dumped for the wonderful and peppy RCF, and the maudlin, dragging SAE beats the funky and fun hybrid Mag7. Jesus Christ, this board …

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I'm punishing you both for voting against me in the yucktones/kiss poll.

I'm with you. SAE has such an odd shape and kinda comes in and goes out with a whimper. I love Joe's verses, but after his last the whole thing just sort of piddles out.

But this has got me quite curious to see how the rest of S! will shake out.

By supporting Heston?! You're sure going to look funny going thru life with your nose cut off.

heston is so untethered from musical reality that support or opposition to his music positions makes no tangible difference in his mind anymore.

I really liked SAE when I played it the other night. I loved Mag 7 too. Honestly they both have bits that could be trimmed up a touch to enter the realms of utter perfection.

That's the first crucial step to normalizing his madness! :naughty:

I was always clear I was trying to vote in favor of the nativist lament!
