ATYP is very good. It only suffers after two sides of one speed songs arranged very similarly.
not sure how you have time to post so may bad GEER takes when you have all those 3 thousand page biographies guilded age presidents to get through.

I just realized how soul crushing a read through of the failed candidates’ bios would be.

He apparently was still a fairly powerful and influential Republican for at least another decade, but I can’t imagine he’ll be remembered much beyond that headline by the time I’m an old man.

Not for me. It deserves all it's praise a sentimental song in amongst all these heavier punk numbers it's a class track.

I actually think it's underrated, never see it getting any major praise on here or elsewhere. I love it myself, I just thought it always sounded out of place on GEER. It sounds weedy when surrounded by all those bombastic songs.

Hey I gave it praise. I don't agree it sounds weedy. But I would agree half of GEER is over heavy.

The middle eight in Stay Free is one of my favourite Clash moments. That sudden jump to "years have passed and things have changed" is genius. Mick had this great knack where he could just totally turn the song around in the blink of an eye, yet make it sound seamless. The Clampdown middle 8 is another great example.

Yeah, I don't mean it sounds weedy in itself, just in comparison to the other tracks. I don't think it's well placed on the album.

Stay Free is a fucking amazing song. It’s rare to hear a platonic love song, too.
