Same order but you get 2 tracks never selected to be sequenced together plus you get a track chosen to be an opener (side 2) as opposed to being in the middle of a track list. Likewise a side closer.Marky Dread wrote: ↑10 Apr 2019, 4:23pmThis baffles me it's in the same order just without a break. Ok must be me then as I see no difference. Maybe as I owned the vinyl first I knew what was following what track. But I also bought the cd as soon as it was released and as it was 12 tracks it was fairly obvious it would've been 6 a side.101Walterton wrote: ↑10 Apr 2019, 4:42pmSame order but you get 2 tracks never selected to be sequenced together plus you get a track chosen to be an opener (side 2) as opposed to being in the middle of a track list. I am sure STH was selected as track 6 to close side 1 not to be in middle of 12 tracks to be followed by OPBF?Marky Dread wrote: ↑10 Apr 2019, 4:46pmOk must be me then as I see no difference. If they were choosing a 12 track list it would be sequenced differently that’s all.

The best song there. Some genuine melody that is lacking elsewhere on side 2.

Inoculated City is great. I know someone who did a really great cover of that track.Heston wrote: ↑10 Apr 2019, 4:54pmThe best song there. Some genuine melody that is lacking elsewhere on side 2.

Yes of course I understand that mate. But then STH may have been chosen as track 12 on the cd. Do you think that when a previously released album gets a cd release would it have been beneficial to have a section of silence between side 1 and side 2?101Walterton wrote: ↑10 Apr 2019, 4:54pmI am sure STH was selected as track 6 to close side 1 not to be in middle of 12 tracks to be followed by OPBF?Marky Dread wrote: ↑10 Apr 2019, 4:46pmOk must be me then as I see no difference. The verses are ok but sound stilted to me. The "chorus" is dumb as hell.Silent Majority wrote: ↑10 Apr 2019, 4:56pmAtom Tan is melodic as hell.Heston wrote: ↑10 Apr 2019, 4:54pmThe best song there. Some genuine melody that is lacking elsewhere on side 2.

Re: ROUND 6 - Combat Rock - Side Two
I've just remixed it and it has much more of a guitar sound now and I quite like it. But I think lyrically it's trying to be too clever. I will post it once I've completed all of CR.Heston wrote: ↑10 Apr 2019, 5:01pmThe verses are ok but sound stilted to me. Potential heretical opinion: Atom Tan is a lot of fun and I don’t dislike it at all, if I drop kayfabe in the GEER vs. CR debate.

I have a hard time keeping track of CR received wisdom on the middle-tier songs.

My point being a lot of thought is put into track listing and sequencing and what was chosen for the 2 sides of 6 track vinyl isn’t necessary right for 12 track CD.

Re: ROUND 6 - Combat Rock - Side Two
I do think that while if you’re familiar with the vinyl/cassette sides first the move to CD is easy, I do think the enforced breaking up of sides on vinyl changes your experience. I first heard S! on tape, which splits it the same as CDs, into two 18 song halves. It was my least favorite Clash album (outside of CTC, which I didn’t even know about). Then I got it on vinyl, and hearing it in 6 song bursts changed how I viewed it going forward.
Even to the point that I found the CD easier.
