I voted Death is a Star but I wouldn't exactly call it an injustice to see 3-4 of these other ones bounced either.

I think ObF is the weak link here. My controversial opinion is that this is a very strong side.

Strong or weak, I'd put a lot of these as similar in quality. OBF is probably gonna go, but I actually kinda like it as a side two lead-off.

Likewise. I even have a soft spot for Death is a Star.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Never liked Atom Tan much. It's lumpy and leaden, never really gets off the ground.

OBF has really grown on me over the years. I grew up in the 'CD Age' and always felt the segue from STH to OBF was too much until I realized OBF is a fresh start for the second half of the album.

Yes interesting point how CD’s interfered with tracklisting.

You could always pause the CD and turn it over (twice).

I used to try to skip it right before it came on, but it would usually get the jump on me as I had trouble anticipating the end of the protracted STH fade out. Those first few synth stabs were like nails on a chalkboard.

Yes but those who aren’t dinosaurs wouldn’t know where the break was designed to be.
