Sticking with Bankrobber. Listened to it this morning and as with many of my picks for near-perfect songs, my criticism is it just goes on a few seconds too long.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
Pex Lives!

It got my vote barely over Bankrobber.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Bankrobber for me, too repetitive. If they'd been a bit cleverer and added something else to it I could have loved it. I'm thinking the way the Specials broke up Ghost Town with that great middle 8 and ominous ontro/outro.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Bankrobber is in my head almost more than any other Clash song, but it's not as good as the remaining choices.

Bankrobber to go as I don't like the lyrics.

Interesting. I think the lyrics are quite strong but the song itself just runs a bit long. What's wrong with the lyrics? Really nice morality tale, imho. Probably as resonant today as ever.

He never hurt nobody?? He is more likely to be robbing sweet shops than banks. Therefore IMHO the lyrics are a misrepresentation of reality.

Re: ROUND 7 - Non-Album Tracks - Part Two
It's artistic license. He's drawing from a tradition of folk hero bank robbers to tell a parable about power structures between employer and employed and the way a system that requires employment to survive restricts freedom. The song isn't trying to make the argument that bank robbers in real life never hurt anyone, because the song isn't really about the actual activity of bankrobbing. Like, Joe's dad wasn't really a bankrobber, as people often point out.
