I wanted IFTL to at least make it to the final three in this bracket as a testament to the Clash's excellent skills as interpreters of other people's songs - the exception that proved the rule of voting off the covers, so to speak. Alas.

Sticking with Gates of the West. Any of these songs could conceivably be the best The Clash ever wrote.

You probably have 3 of their all time top 5 right there!!!

This is by far the strongest bracket. I’m voting off songs that would trounce many of the winners of other polls. GOTW, but this hurts because it’s one of my all time favorite Clash songs, and one of the ones I sing to my infant son to calm him at night.

For about the 4th time I'm going with GotW. The competition against it has been too strong.

First time GOTW for me but I had no choice.

I went CR2, GOTW is just too good.

But CR2 is the best example of The Clash doing a cover of a great song and making it even greater!!

None of this really matters that much, however. Neither song is going to be beat White Man or CC!

Again I'm voting out CR2. Competition is too strong and it has that daft ending.

CR2 is an odd one. Superfluous intro and outro surrounding perhaps the most perfect 90 seconds of their career.

I'd actually be fine with a tie bouncing both CR2 and GOTW. Great songs, but we all know what the final showdown is going to be here.

GOTW is better than White Man imo, it deserves its day in the sun, even if it gets beat.

Two very different Clash songs both incredible in their own way. (WM) hIP is probably more Clash sounding. GotW is simply stunning.
