Re: ROUND 11 - Non-Album Tracks
Been voting GOTW for several rounds now, let's get to the White man vs Complete Control matchup we all knew was coming.

Very unfortunate for GoTW but since I still can't understand most of what Mick is ranting about unlike the other two (with lyric sheets )

Jenny is going to be PISSED.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Re: ROUND 11 - Non-Album Tracks
Sadly for me it would have to be Complete Control.

For arguments sake, say it was the FHTE version?

Re: ROUND 11 - Non-Album Tracks
Well a bit difficult to compare live against a studio take. They didn't play Gates of the West live. Plus there are live versions of White Man that are better than that Complete Control live from Bonds. I hear often how much people love that live version and the opening chords from Mick but that opening is edited. If you listen to the whole show you will hear there's a bit more than what made the single cut. I prefer Gates and White Man to Complete Control but these are small margins. I've appreciated just how great and complex Gates is over the years. It is an amazing track.BitterTom wrote: ↑16 Apr 2019, 6:43pmFor arguments sake, say it was the FHTE version?
