To me, any dream Clash show has to end with White Riot, right?
Yeah, exactly. It's the ultimate capper. Means it should be a Top 3(or 5, at a push) song in the overall voting, at least.
And it would have to be the UK album version, not the wimpy single.
This is Heston's album 1 version of TIRC/RC.
I wish they'd recorded the whole first album with the sound that White Riot had.
They pretty much did half of it. Beaconsfield demos which is what White Riot is.

Correct mate, but didn't they touch up White Riot a bit for the album?

I'm going to say slightly listening back. But doesn't sound like it received much work.

They chopped off that "Hey are you starala, are we gonna set me baby, hey Pamela, is it going round?" lyric. Or the second half of it, I can't remember.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Interesting. I always wondered what that line was. In my head I always sang, "Yeah, sod all that, only on a Sunday baby."

In the YouTube comments someone says it's...

Hey you all stand in line
Are we gonna sign an agreement

Sounds nearly right but not sure.

Sorry I upped that on my phone which seems to predict shit on it's own

It should have read ''accelerant all we got is Sunday papers". Which I've always assumed was about setting fire to that car at the riot.

I've just slowed it down through my software and it sonds like ''they stand in a line all to get their sunday papers''. Which makes sense if it's about those not taking part in the riot and reading about it later.

I think USA won because White Riot got voted out (god knows why I blame the CR fans).
The first album had to represented by one of their punk tunes that made their name and if not WR it had to be USA.
