When CC wins this competition it will prove nothing. If CC wins, it will be acknowledgement that in the end, the Clash were a shit-hot noisy rock band. (SEH would prove the same thing. SAE, not so much.)Marky Dread wrote: ↑18 Apr 2019, 7:53pmWhen CC wins this competition it will prove nothing. Nope rubbish and you know it. Well I guess there was a time I felt like this too. But as I've grown with the music I appreciate the detail and effort in some of the slower numbers and the brilliant lyrics that fit that music. Punk rock has a magic all it's own and I wouldn't be without it. But as long as the attitude is there then I just don't need everything to be at break neck speed.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑18 Apr 2019, 8:36pmBut that was their best form.Marky Dread wrote: ↑18 Apr 2019, 8:07pmNope rubbish and you know it. I'm not rejecting what they became by any means—please don't get me wrong here—only that I prefer the spit and snarl. There was an urgency there that endures.Marky Dread wrote: ↑18 Apr 2019, 8:40pmWell I guess there was a time I felt like this too. I love all aspects of their music. Complete Control/(White Man) in Hammersmith Palais/Straight to Hell. Three very different sounding songs all brilliant for me. It's this diversity which gives them their ever enduring appeal for me.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑18 Apr 2019, 8:52pmI'm not rejecting what they became by any means—please don't get me wrong here—only that I prefer the spit and snarl. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
