You went much further than was merited. Take comfort that SAE lasted longer than plenty of greater songs on other albums.

Someday, Doc, you're gonna have to let us know how you really feel about SAE.

I'm envisioning a Lincoln Douglas type debate circuit - but featuring Doc and Heston debating the merits (or lack of merits) about SAE.
I'm actually amazed that the song has taken on a new life in this poll. I've listened to Sandinista! many, many, many times since I was a teenager and it was always one of those tracks that sort of played out in the background for me. I didn't hate it, but it didn't really grab me.

I prefer to keep my own counsel on the matter.

When the album came out i thought SAE was one of it's few redeeming features.WestwayKid wrote: ↑27 Apr 2019, 2:06pmI'm envisioning a Lincoln Douglas type debate circuit - but featuring Doc and Heston debating the merits (or lack of merits) about SAE.

I've always really liked this phrase. I should use it more often.

And then the board just became a group of people keeping their own counsel. It became a ghost town.
