ROUND 22: Sandinista! - Semi
Re: ROUND 22: Sandinista! - Semi
In other words, I suspect some dubious forces at work, but I'm going to keep my own counsel on the matter.

Will be interesting to see the swing from WB to either OMT or Charlie that got 0 votes that round.

We've been averaging about 24-26 votes per poll - so this one is definitely not settled!!

I always thought it was common knowledge that OMT was the best song on S!

Really hard to decide between CDS and WB for the boot but I went with WB. Charlie is just too weirdly wonderful. I still hope against hope that One More Time can win this. It is easily the best song on the album after SAE and Corner Soul.

Worth pointing out perhaps that The Story of the Clash featured only Mag 7 and SGM, Clash on Broadway had those two plus POMB, The Leader, The Call Up, Washington Bullets, Broadway, Street Parade and Lighting Strikes (live), while Essential Clash had Mag 7, Ivan (!?), SGM, Street Parade and Broadway.
While nobody cares too much about compilation albums in 2019, I still can't believe how seemingly clueless even the band were themselves about this album. Is it really so hard to recognize that OMT, Charlie, and Up in Heaven (not to mention LGC, SAE) deserve to be on a compilation album over the likes of Ivan, The Leader, Cheat, Jimmy Jazz, Stop the World, Cool Confusion and Red Angel Dragnet?

Spot on. They had no idea about single releases either. It almost seems like willful sabotage at times.drowninghere wrote: ↑29 Apr 2019, 7:22pmWorth pointing out perhaps that The Story of the Clash featured only Mag 7 and SGM, Clash on Broadway had those two plus POMB, The Leader, The Call Up, Washington Bullets, Broadway, Street Parade and Lighting Strikes (live), while Essential Clash had Mag 7, Ivan (!?), SGM, Street Parade and Broadway.

How is it part 2 of Straight to Hell? I get the theme for me always think of it as a trilogy with Charlie Don't Surf/Straight to Hell/Sean Flynn. So part 1 for me of that Vietnam thing.
