This should offset those FHTE memories.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Rudie better not fucking lose to 77 Joe voice.

I love Rudie almost as much as I would love this, the craziest thing you believe, to be refuted publicly.

Quietly, Straight to Hell - the actual best song the Clash ever recorded - is losing to both Rudie and CC at the moment.

Recorded CC has plenty of great stuff that isn't in FHTE CC. An in-tune guitar solo and "You're my guitar hero" for a start. Even if the FHTE version never existed it would remain my favourite Clash song.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I’m not even that in the tank for the FTHE version. It’s really good, but it never stood out above any other live tracks for me.

CC has always been at least top 5 for me, sometimes 1.

Clash fans hate bossa nova.

(I’m not prepared to say it’s the best song they ever did, but it’s up there, as voting attests)

Of these, I'm backing CC to the end. But WMiHP would beat that for me.

I thought Topper was pretty well versed in jazz and latin styles, so him calling STH "bossa nova" is baffling.

If Rudie and Straight to Hell end up tied, this would be final round. :scared:

I mean, it’s obviously not a bossa nova song, but I assumed he was just copping the beat and putting it on STH. Then again, I’m not an expert.

I'm also not a latin music expert (though I did learn a decent amount back in high school, but haven't done any latin drumming in probably 18 years), but this is what I think of as a bossa nova beat:

What Topper plays on STH is very different and far more complicated. A lot of latin/Brazilian drumming is very syncopated and complicated, not unlike STH, so I assumed he meant something in that vein (mambo is sorta closer).
