Complete Control Reigns Supreme!

Post by WestwayKid »

After over 150 songs...

After over a month of polls...

Complete Control is the ultimate survivor of The GREAT Clash SURVIVOR Poll of 2019!!

This was a lot of fun. Thank you all for taking part - lots of great debate and great discussion and at least for me - it was a great reminder of just what an awesome catalog they have. I've been listening to them since I was a teenager and maybe I've taken their music for granted after all these years - so taking a deep dive into their music has been a lot of fun!!

this whole this is illegitimate because we didn't vote on both This Is Radio Clash AND Radio Clash. :shifty:

Great, great work WestwayKid. This has been a fun as hell exercise, and it restored my faith in the wrong tastes of a majority of this board a majority of the time.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

...and now we can get back to more polls about KISS! Personally, I want to see a Vinnie Vincent versus Mark St. John poll! ;)

I've never heard any of Kiss' material properly. I'd be up for at polls in terms of reccomendations.

Oh, and here's the studio cut of the song that won it all, if you need to re-familiarize yourself quickly:
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Sounds poorly produced to me and that '77 Joe voice is terrible.

It has so many great moments. On very first playing it (I bought it in WH Smiths, Reading) I just fell in love with it. I played it over and over again and the line ''I don't trust you...so why trust me'' was like my punk mantra.

I could write an essay on all the great things about it. I love the way the intro is in some weird timing like 6/8 or something. Matey will probably correct me but it has this unorthodox bar length. The way it has no chorus, just a bridge. That unexpected G chord just after the "you're my guitar hero" bit. Then it has a middle eight which kicks in out of nowhere and just keeps on rolling to the end. Utter genius made to sound so simple.
