Bodies is a close second to Anarchy as my fav Pistols track. Paranoid is good, but slight in comparison, at least structurally.

Bodies has one of the weirdest intros ever.

It primes you for the onslaught pretty well.

That's pretty different. Very cool.

This is some muso shit but the most cool thing about this song is the vocal melody on the chorus. On Bod-ies the vocal hits an F# behind the G chord, turning it into a Gmaj7. But then near the end they hit an E note behind the G instead, turning it into a G6. It's the subtle, clever stuff like this that the likes of the Expoited just totally miss.

This stuff makes me wish that someone had locked Steve in some rehab/recording studio situation (with twice daily conjugal visits) in the late seventies to mid-eighties.

Yeah, that's very interesting. Certainly catches the ear. Lesser bands would have just rode a G, B, or D.

Also, there are some interesting notes in the intro. It says E but he hits some Gs (third fret of the low E) which is the flatted third. It's a classic blue note, but just sounds dissonant here.

Bodies is a genuine tale of a woman who carried her aborted foetus around in a bag. It's also a song about the right of a woman to choose what she does with her body.

The song would be equally as brilliant without the profanity.
