Re: Track 7 Poll 2
If I was voting purely strategically, I'd be voting only for The Who and nothing else, but went with my pick (Stars & Stripes) and the very worthy Pogues track as well. A few other good 'uns here, but mostly I'll be impressed if American Oi garners a single other vote.

I thought they would have pissed this to be honest. I'm surprised.

We have a lot to blame it for but I think it's a great song. It was like a shining beacon in a sea of shit at the time.

You have to remember that I was a teenaged punk when it came out and I already had two Green Day albums and a ton of other pop-punk bands’ stuff in my library. To me it sounded like...well, kind of a mediocre, by-the-numbers Green Day song.

Re: Track 7 Poll 2
I completely missed Green Day
I don’t mean this poll I mean in general, I know vaguely some of their hits if I heard them but could not confidently name them.
Is that a bad thing?

I mean...if you were my age or younger I’d say you were wildly out of touch, but nah. They’re a perfectly competent pop punk band but nothing they have done is essential to discover as an adult in my opinion.101Walterton wrote: ↑12 May 2020, 8:08pmI completely missed Green Day

Yeah, I suppose that's a different perspective. They were virtually unheard of here until 1994 and seemed to come from nowhere.Wolter wrote: ↑12 May 2020, 7:53pmYou have to remember that I was a teenaged punk when it came out and I already had two Green Day albums and a ton of other pop-punk bands’ stuff in my library.
