Interesting. Never liked anything i heard about her personally but it was the fact that i regularly see her name on those lists of greatest female rock stars that had me wondering was that purely hype over substance. She might have some decent songs but thats some company she's keeping, i cant believe she belongs anywhere up there.
I mean, neither does Joan Jett, but she's always up there too. I think a lot of times those lists, especially when it comes to women, never dig deep at all.
Yep that's it JB. In a nutshell not enough women go noticed in the same way as their male counterparts good or bad.

Yeah, i know they're only lists and always come with that caveat. Joan Jett never did much musically for me but i accepted the premise that she was quite influential and inspired other bands or artists. But i wasnt aware Courtney Love was ever in that bracket.

I've never been keen on her going back to when she was so desperate to play Nancy Spungen. Thank God for Chloe Webb who was brilliant. I don't hate her and she doesn't upset me with her antics like she does some people. She just comes across as an annoying brat.
And it's hard not to see her as a much more talented Nancy—and, make no mistake, I think she is a talented person, both as a musician and actor—who found a much more talented Sid, and similarly fed his ego and alienated him from his old friends. I know that it's really easy to make that comparison, but it's hard not to see so many of the same personality traits of those involved.

Yes that's my view also. I've always felt like it was fantasy becoming a reality.
