Probably my favorite Portishead song, as it's got a little aggression to it.

This has to be cheating purely by the fact that it's so damn good!

A whole lot that I can support here.

Ah shit, that's a big one.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Marks out of ten and a short comment for all the songs so far, gave them all a couple of spins today...
PJ Harvey - 6/10 - Never been a fan but this is ok
Lorde - 8/10 - Excellent song and sounds better for not hearing for while
Joan Armatrading - 9/10 - My choice so it's obviously brilliant
Madonna - 8/10 - Back on top form
The Interrupters - 6.5/10 - I'm starting to dig this group but not one of the better ones I've heard by them thus far
L7 - 6/10 - Not really my bag but I wouldn't turn it off
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - 6/10 - See above
Aretha Franklin - 7/10 - Great vocal and sturdy song
Anna Calvi - 6/10 - Couldn't really get into this to be honest
Patti Smith Group - 8.5/10 - Rightly a classic
Sleeper - 6/10 - A bit Indie Schmindy for me
Epoxies - 8/10 - Really like this, intro got me hooked straight away
Lauryn Hill - 4/10 - Sorry I just do not like this type of music
Against Me! - 8.5/10 - Reminded me of the Levellers crossed with Green Day, really good track
The Sundays - 6.5/10 - A bit too nice for me but pleasant enough
Portishead - 5/10 - A genre I'm not really into. No boxes ticked for me
Dusty Springfield - 10/10 - Pure class in every note
PJ Harvey - 6/10 - Never been a fan but this is ok

Full credit to Heston for spinning and commenting on every nominated song. I sincerely hope one of your nominations carries the day in this game.

I wanna say Babylon or She's Kerosene are better than White Noise (which I like).Heston wrote: ↑14 Jul 2020, 6:44pmMarks out of ten and a short comment for all the songs so far, gave them all a couple of spins today...
