The Ultimate Women's Album - Side 1 Track 3 Vote - Round 1a

Post by Dr. Medulla »

You know the deal by now. Two votes per person in this round, top two (plus ties) move on unless one gets over 50%. Nominees this time were selected in alternating fashion based on nomination order.

Dusty and Joan. Two great pop songs.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Same. Two easy pics but I can see Dusty walking this one.

Dusty, rightly, is gonna run away with this one.

Probably would have voted Interrupters if one of their other track 3s had been chosen but decided to throw one to the extremely unappreciated talent of Lauryn Hill. A supreme case of "what could have been" and this song is still great.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Whoops, forgot I could get two votes and didn't even vote for my own choice. Dusty is a no brainer.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Going forward, do people want me to make it so you can change your vote on the early rounds, where you get two picks, so that those who accidentally only vote for one can go back and pick their second? It'd be honour system not to make changes later for strategic reasons.

No, let people learn from their mistakes. It won't make any difference this round anyway.

Why not make a poll with five options to find out.

I think it's probably a good idea.

i think we've fully proven that the solution to our search justice does not lie in polls.

I'm liking the idea of a poll for the number of options. I'm putting three up there.
