It's Bush vs. Bushy Pits, and it comes down to where the four votes for Republica and Hazel O'Connor go. Time to close out Side 1, people.

kate bush, although i actually may prefer 99 luftballoons and its apocalyptic madness. but kate deserves a spot on this thing and might as well just get it locked in.

Although Kate has better, stronger songs than this one, it looks like this is the only way she's going to get on this album. And she deserves a spot.

As much as I like "natural" women, I'm sticking with Kate.

Come on, 99 is such a cool song.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I voted 99, but by a hair. This was not a round I was invested in.

Should there be a US and UK version of this album?

I've gone for Nena, but find it odd that we're voting for the German version of the song rather than the English version we are more familiar with and the version that was a hit (in the UK at least).

For some strange reason it was the German version that was a hit in America.

I have it on 12" single with English on Side A, German Side B. It doesn't seem like the English version actually appeared on an album.
