Yup. This game could never produce a truly meaningful reflection of the voters. It also necessarily results in a dog's breakfast of tracks because the vote isn't designed to produce a sensible and cohesive album, but just a list of the result of 13 (flawed) votes.Wolter wrote: ↑30 Aug 2020, 1:54pmBy the way, I think most of these polls are going to occasionally lead to unsatisfying results through no fault of any designer. Without ranked choice (which is way too much work) you could easily have 35% of people picking a winner over the 65% of people who hate that song but don’t agree on the other ones in the field.

It's easy. Stupid Girl has a sample of Train in Vain. Done.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑30 Aug 2020, 1:36pmHolee crap, we have a tie. Which means I get to cast the tying vote. I'm the Mike Pence of the game, if you will, and not just because I'm scared to be around women. So, rather than be arbitrary and pick my preference, I'd like to hear arguments from proponents of both sides, including, if you wish, criticism of the other song. I'll give people a day before I break the tie. Also, if you want to Paypal me your argument, let me know and I'll send you my address.

Interesting. When I suggested that at the outset you vehemently refused. This game can break people.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑30 Aug 2020, 1:47pmIf I'm not persuaded by the arguments, I might just do that.

You mean the song that a lot of Clash fans are mildly embarrassed by? Is that pro or con "Stupid Girl"?

Well, I mean, if the arguments all suck, the choice is me going with the one I like more or letting Jesus pick. And I think we'd all be happier with Jesus' infinite wisdom versus my somewhat-less-infinite wisdom.

Hello,
Science, not luck (okay, random - but not luck - luck is inconsistent).

While not the superior, more classic version as performed by Kirsty Maccoll, They Don't Know brought a classic pop sensibility to the mainstream in the eighties which sorely needed it. Like the greatest pop music, it is a song all about yearning, where the melody says as much as the heart sick lyrics.
