The Ultimate Women's Album - Side 2 Track 5 Vote - Round 1b

Post by Dr. Medulla »

We've got six songs here, let's get it down to one or two.

edit: Ha! Whoops on my sloppy copy-paste on the post title. Hopefully Uncle Inder will clean that shit up.

None of these were my top tier choices, but went with Detroit Cobras and Portishead, the latter of which is a bit of a 90s nostalgia pick, but well earned nostalgia.

The Take a Bow video has serious pull for the matedong.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I hope not. I'd prefer Repliesview's last post to remain a mystery.

Solve that and you will live forever young.*

(The curse is that you will be trapped hearing Alphaville's "Forever Young" on a loop.)

That was strangely never a hit here but a local DJ insists on playing it what seems like every other day.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

An absolutely terrible song. When I did my lecture on nuclear imagery in pop music, I said that it's always the worst song on any random early 80s compilation.

It is hideous. Well done to the British public for not buying it.

I believe this answer to be correct. I picked the same.

They're starting to get more common. You'll be listening to Dynasty next.
