The Ultimate Women's Album - Side 2 Track 6 Vote - Round 1

Post by Dr. Medulla »

Because we had less than 10 nominees for this round, I could have split it into two groups of 4 and 5, but that would have meant people could only vote for one song (Rule #6a). So I'm throwing them all into the hopper for Round 1 and everyone can pick two, as usual. The top three contenders will move on unless one pick winds up at 50%+. That, I hope, still allows for some significance for the supporters of picks that don't move on.

Wow, votes from the Fifth Ward have pushed the Spex into the lead.

Not that I don't think the spex song is great, but I'd love to hear someone just make the argument in its favor. It's a bummer that it seems like the only way to provoke a case for a song is to disparage it enough, which I don't really care to do in this case.

Surprised my nomination didn't get a vote. It has (imho) one the most memorable guitar solos from the early 90's. But i guess there were too many better picks.

Yeah I'm surprised as well. Most people didn't use their second vote at all it seems.

Hard to second guess anyone's taste around here.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Ive used it sparingly as it has not always worked out how I would have liked it. But then it has never worked out as I would like so clearly my strategy is shit. Or something is...
