With the Beatles / Side A / Round 1
Released on November 22nd, 1963 (I think something else happened that day...) With the Beatles represented quite a leap from Please Please Me.

I've never liked 'Till There Was You. I appreciate the fact that they could be eclectic with song selection, but a track from The Music Man just really feels out of place. It deserves to go no further than this round.

Never listened to this one, looking forward to.

I'm not warming to this album too much so I've put it on for the 3rd time. I can easily say though Little Child is my least favourite here though. The harmonica annoys me, the "I'm so sad and lonely" annoys me and I can only hear music in my (nearly deaf) right ear.

The Beatles' crass stereo mixing. Better in mono, as are all their albums up to the White Album.BitterTom wrote: ↑17 Oct 2020, 4:35pmI'm not warming to this album too much so I've put it on for the 3rd time. I'm gonna have to recheck this album tomorrow, 3 or 4 songs I have no memory of.

The sleeve is the most memorable part of the record. It's by no means bad—c'mon, it's the Beatles—but it feels overall like stuff not quite good enough for Please Please Me.

Interesting. With the Beatles is my favourite.

The real hipsters prefer side 2 of Abbey Rd.

A real Beatles hipster only listens to the complete Get Back sessions and argues about Take 15 versus 22 of "I Dig a Pony."
