I really like She Said She Said. It is a fantastic track. Great playing throughout (Ringo never sounded better). George's lead riff is great. Lennon's vocal delivery is spot on, druggy, yet tough. Paul's bass is buried a bit too far in the mix, but listen closely - it's really, really good.

There is just no world in which this track deserves to be eliminated this early. It's not as good as I'm Only Sleeping, but better than everything else on this side.
The fact it currently has more votes than Yellow Submarine is astounding.

I think some voters might need to re-listen to the LP ;).

ER is perfect. Best song on the album.
Jaw status: Dropped.
Is it that outlandish a claim? I just did a cursory search of Beatles songs ranked and it was at number 12. And that's their whole output.
That, too, is jaw-dropping. Acknowledging that, yes, it is a very good song, but in the Beatles oeuvre, it's conservative as fuck in sentiment and performance. It's not rock n roll, it's not rock, it's not art rock—it's pre-rock n roll. And on an album that is about seriously pushing forward what they think rock music can be, it's massively out of place.

Hard disagree. They were always quite eclectic. How can it sound out of place on an album with bhangra, nursery rhymes and psychedelic wig outs?

Because it's what I said—the album is about going forward and challenging listeners to risk all that they expected of popular music. "Yellow Submarine" might seem backwards, but it's not unlike a lot of the weird music coming out of early Haight-Ashbury. But "Eleanor Rigby" is something that would make sense to mom and dad. It would make sense on The White Album, which is all over the place in styles, but not so on Revolver.

ER is a stunning slice of melancholia. A brilliant melody with a great maudlin lyric.

It's not the best song on the album for me personally but it's still totally great.

They should have kept 'em up, for all of their albums. For the Get Back sessions George strumming, gritting his teeth as Paul sang about Bakersfield and Yoko wailed.
