Voting Getting Better until it's gone because of its overplayed history in commercials.
I've come to hate The Turtles' "Happy Together" for the same reason. I can't hear it without thinking I need cookies, a new car, tampons, anti-anxiety drugs, and athlete's foot spray.
I’m twitter friends with Howard Kalyan’s daughter, so I am glad yo know every time it plays her family makes like 0.000008 cents.
My stepdad supposedly went to high school with some members of the band. That's my only contribution to this conversation.

He left his therapy session before that revelation.

Am I the only one who is an unabashed Kite fan?
Unabashed, no. But it's one of the most ambitious songs on the album, one that comes closer to justifying the hype.
The most bougie thing I’ll ever admit to is that I learned to appreciate it more when I saw Cirque de Soliel’s Love in Vegas. It’s definitely a weird circus song.

The poll suggests that IMCT doesn't tolerate weird. :meh:

I think we've seen enough polls around here to know that IMCT is way more basic than it would like to think.

Same experience here. And I have no shame in admitting that I very much enjoyed Love. It might be because I was newly pregnant at the time and couldn't drink, but I loved it.

It isn't the weirdness that puts me off Kite, I just think it's a rather average song.

The weirdness elevates it. It's not a detail but a core element.

I rate it. It has that weird psych element I dig. It's like it takes you outside the song.

Ali was like 6 months pregnant with Jackson when we saw it. During Blackbird the guy jumped right over her head and I thought she was going to go into labor.

I think it'd have a great feeling (I feel like I'm repeating a discussion from Tomorrow Never Knows) even if acoustic. It's got an easy, folk-y sense of escape in the melody itself and the words are a fairytale.
