Pepper - Side B - Round 2

Post by WestwayKid »

I feel like When I'm Sixty Four should be the choice to go this round, but a case could be made for a couple of other songs. Good Morning Good Morning is pretty weak, but it has some nice guitar licks towards the end and Lennon's lyric is entertainingly bizarre.

Everything you say is right except the pretty weak part. Batshit deserves support.

It'll be next for me though it's an ok song.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

If that happens the poll is automatically over. In fact, I think there would never be a poll around here again.

I can't see the issue with how short it is. It's the most energetic thing on the album and injects something into proceedings. Love Macca's out of control hollering near the end.

Nothing will beat A Day In the Life but the reprise is my second favourite thing on the whole album.

I just don't buy that if there's something you couldn't convincingly put on a compilation to stand on its own, then it's not worthy of voting for best song. It exists as a framing device within this album only.

But aren't we voting for it within the context of the album?

In the context of the album, it damns itself with a reminder that "Hey, remember that this was a concept album?"

It ROCKS so hard I don't need reminding of anything.
