The Beatles - Side A - Round 4
I have 3 standout songs remaining (Prudence, Guitar, Warm Gun). Glass Onion is fun, with a playful Lennon lyric (and it rocks). I'm going with the Beach Boys pastiche in this round.

Clapton must go.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

An embarrassment of riches here, so I'll jump on board with purging Clapton.

George has not gotten much love in this poll.

Given the legend of the song, I was pretty disappointed when I actually heard it.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Happiness is pretty cool too. It kinda goes all over the place. I like that. USSR is cool because it randomly becomes a Beach Boys song in the second verse or bridge or whatever that is. Good clap track too.

Was going to go Prudence again but had the album on earlier and WMGGW just isn't as enjoyable to listen to. Truth be told, it's a bit dull.
Re: The Beatles - Side A - Round 4
Gun needs to win this side and probably the whole album.

Take this chance to watch Prince absolutely fucking wail on Guitar Gently Weeps at the Rock n Roll Tribute to Harrison. Best video on YouTube

That one is lots of fun. But only because of Prince. Rest of song is still meh.Silent Majority wrote: ↑19 Jan 2021, 5:42pmTake this chance to watch Prince absolutely fucking wail on Guitar Gently Weeps at the Rock n Roll Tribute to Harrison. Best video on YouTube

Yes, but the dullness of the surrounding song is like a set up for Prince to do his stuff.matedog wrote: ↑19 Jan 2021, 5:56pmThat one is lots of fun. But only because of Prince.
