The Beatles - Side A - Round 4

Post by WestwayKid »

I have 3 standout songs remaining (Prudence, Guitar, Warm Gun). Glass Onion is fun, with a playful Lennon lyric (and it rocks). I'm going with the Beach Boys pastiche in this round.

An embarrassment of riches here, so I'll jump on board with purging Clapton.

Given the legend of the song, I was pretty disappointed when I actually heard it.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Happiness is pretty cool too. It kinda goes all over the place. I like that. USSR is cool because it randomly becomes a Beach Boys song in the second verse or bridge or whatever that is. Good clap track too.

Was going to go Prudence again but had the album on earlier and WMGGW just isn't as enjoyable to listen to. Truth be told, it's a bit dull.

That one is lots of fun. But only because of Prince. Rest of song is still meh.

Yes, but the dullness of the surrounding song is like a set up for Prince to do his stuff.
