Abbey Road - Side A - Round 3
This poll continues to be very unkind to George Harrison.

I Want You (She's So Heavy) has a really inventive vocal but it bores me a bit to be honest. It needed a better counterpoint to the "I want you" bits.

This Ringo apologist is voting for Garden.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Slow the tune down, you get Whatever by Oasis.

I'm American, I've only heard three Oasis songs in my life. I'll give this a spin when I'm out of my meeting.

It's one of the very few Liam-sang Oasis songs I like. The song is a total lift of course, Noel was rightly sued for it and lost.Silent Majority wrote: ↑02 Feb 2021, 12:51pmLower your expectationsmatedog wrote: ↑02 Feb 2021, 12:49pmI'm American, I've only heard three Oasis songs in my life. Come on. It is the second best Ringo song.

One of their best, that's not saying too much, but still.Heston wrote: ↑02 Feb 2021, 12:59pmIt's one of the very few Liam-sang Oasis songs I like. I like that there seems to be a movement afoot to protect Garden another round. I'm into it. Voted I Want You. When the best thing about the song is the parenthetical...
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
Pex Lives!

Re: Abbey Road - Side A - Round 3
I ended up becoming a big Oasis fan circa 1994/95. I was tired of grunge by that point and their throwback guitar rock really sounded good to my ears. I saw them live supporting Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory, both times playing relatively small venues in Milwaukee. They lost me somewhere in their middle period, but I saw them for the final time in 2006 and was pleasantly surprised how strong the show was (Zak Starkey was on drums for that one).matedog wrote: ↑02 Feb 2021, 12:49pmI'm American, I've only heard three Oasis songs in my life.
