Greatest Album of 1979 - Preliminary Round 3

Post by Dr. Medulla »

So, what did round 2 of the preliminaries tell us? That collectively you think Dynasty is better than Lodger, Stations of the Crass, Three Imaginary Boys, Metal Box, Fear of Music, and 154. Have you people actually heard Dynasty? Jesus Christ, this board …

This should be the last prelim round. We're down to sixteen albums. I'm going to keep everyone's number of votes at four, but the threshold to survive is now also at four. I'm hoping that'll knock off four to six more, so that on Monday we can switch to survivor mode.

We can have 4 people crazy enough to vote for Dynasty.

Its funny on the initial first round lost you posted I voted for PiL but subsequent offerings (SLF, Germs, Ruts) got my vote.

Im surprised the Germs have made it this far as this is a Kagajaroo board.

The only good thing from that would be in the first proper elimination round, I'd hope it would receive every vote but Heston's. That kind of trouncing would be somewhat therapeutic. But still, looking at what's already been tossed over instead, you start to understand how QAnon took off.

Even though I'm fairly new to this board, I've got a hunch who cast the vote.

There are just too many good choices, I can't pick one. Obviously the KISS album is meant as a joke but the others are all very prominent in my collection and I still listen to them on a regular basis.

Shit, might want to edit this before Heston sees it!

There’s literally only one shitty album on this list. This poll is going to be hard.

This explains so much about all of these polls: everyone sucks.

This corroborates my musing the other day about the Clash being hoisted out of the punk category and into the general rock category. They attract more than just people with good taste.

Either that or voting and not knowing the results until the poll expires. That could complicate where people distribute their votes.
