Greatest Album of 1979 - Elimination Round 4
Well, the bigots here have decided epileptics don't deserve respect either. You're all terrible. So, who's next for offending your high standards?

In the end, this board is going to bow down before the guy who told people his diplomat dad was actually a bankrobber because that's the kind of poseurs you all are.revbob wrote: ↑20 May 2021, 8:50amPlenty more to hate left. I'd be riding Entertainment! to the end.

Who in their right mind would be voting "Setting Sons" off so soon?

I’m actually done voting for oi
EDIT: I’m leaving this hilarious typo in.
Anyway, I’m done voting for anything but London Calling because I like all of these albums and to hell with the Clash.
I love Magazine, but I suspect this is their last round.

Sorry, Declan, I'm just not a fan. I know I am supposed to like him, but I just don't.

A friend habitually calls him Elvis Marshmallow. He's not a fan.

I've always rated Setting Sons pretty low (relatively, I mean. I'm about to sound kinda mean about the album but it's only because this is a comparative exercise). An album of mostly fine but not great songs, a great single, another song that's worse on the album version than the single version, and an awful cover to end the album (unlike the clash, the jam were mostly quite bad at covers). Of The Jam's catalog, only The Gift has less to offer a listener. I've never heard a compelling argument for why Setting Sons is a particularly artistically important Jam album. A commercial hit maybe, but who gives a fuck about that.
