Yeah, I'm listening to it right now and I'll agree it's one of the best comps ever released.Heston wrote: ↑26 May 2021, 1:55pmEasily

You know me and cod Trinidadian music...Heston wrote: ↑26 May 2021, 1:02pmIt's a fantastic lyric but it is clunky.Kory wrote: ↑26 May 2021, 12:58pmI like that song.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑26 May 2021, 11:22amIt was a test to see how Muppet you've gone. Thankfully, you passed.Heston wrote: ↑26 May 2021, 10:49amIt's the same with most bands. And you've deliberately picked a real clunker. I'll counter it with "To Be Someone" and "Ghosts", cited by many as their best song.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑26 May 2021, 10:08am
I get that. But, Heston's crazed muppetry aside, I maintain that it's the singles that people gush about. Nobody's got a boner for "The Planner's Dream Goes Wrong."

The Clash captured the Trinidadian vibe much better.Kory wrote: ↑26 May 2021, 3:10pmYou know me and cod Trinidadian music...

No question, but it's not something you see white people having an interest in very often so it's always interesting to see how they interpret it.

I've just had Snap! on, what a great way to spend 90 minutes. Not one duff track.

My personal favorite Jam album is the CD version of Setting Sons that includes all of the non-album singles (a&b) released at that time, but Snap! is probably the objective best album you could make from them.

Yeah, their best era. They fired out some great b-sides over their career.

The live set from Newcastle 1980 from the Fire & Skill set is one of the best live recordings I've ever heard. Heavy on the Setting Sons/Sound Affects albums. They were hitting on all cylinders during that era.
