Hi, my name's Paul and I've just joined the forum.
My main purpose in doing so is to try to find a keys player to join my Clash tribute group in the UK.
We are currently in rehearsal, with a saxophone player, with the intention of performing the London Calling album live in venues in the UK.
However, we have recently lost our keys player and it's proving really hard to find a replacement.
I was wondering if a member of your forum (inevitably a Clash fan) might like the opportunity to join a great band.
It may be that they can play piano but have never considered joining a band before.
They may not even have any equipment but, in true punk style, I'm sure we could sort something out for them.
The main things are enthusiasm and a 'can do' attitude.
I've entitled this post 'Dear Administrator' because I don't want to break any IMCT rules and am hoping for guidance about whether or not such a post would be acceptable to you and, if so, where the best place would be to post it.
For my part, I am a huge Clash fan; saw them first in July '78 (On Parole), then December '78 (Sort it Out) and late '79 (16 Tons) all at Manchester Apollo.
Over subsequent years, I saw Joe leading The Pogues and later The Mescaleros.
I have also seen Carbon Silicon twice and met Mick Jones.
Please let me know if it's OK to post a 'musician wanted request' and, if so, where to post it.
All the best, Paul

Re: Dear Administrator
Hi Paul the administrator is down the pub and left me in charge!!
Welcome to the humble neighbourhood and yes of course post is acceptable and welcomed. The only rule we have that I know of is to try and break every rule.
Your post is in the right place and will be seen. There are some good musos on here so hopefully someone will put you in touch with the right person.
Good luck.

I can barely play chopsticks on the piano and I live in the US - but good luck and welcome to the board!

Welcome to the board!
We have a bunch of UK-based regulars, but it may be a better bet to post a wanted ad on Gumtree or similar to broaden your search. Good luck!
