To be fair, Franny Lee did go for the occasional dive!

The ground is probably still feeling the reverberation of him hitting the deck there. He was never the most svelte of players.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Peter felt he got a lot of grief for the game and felt very much like he let the side down. The criticism is a bit unfair - first goal was under him but not much to do about the others.

The goal he was blamed for took a slight deflection if you look closely. Should have done a bit better but not the howler it appears at first.gkbill wrote: ↑14 Apr 2020, 1:13pmHello,101Walterton wrote: ↑13 Apr 2020, 7:28pmTalk about a low defensive line how much space on the Pitch especially England’s second goal!!

Re: RIP Peter Bonetti
The backstory doesn’t help him. Didn’t know he was playing (didn’t have a bench back then either) until 1 hour before kick off as Banks had passed a fitness test that morning.Heston wrote: ↑14 Apr 2020, 1:23pmThe goal he was blamed for took a slight deflection if you look closely. Bonetti hadn’t played at all during the tournament until that game.
