Well done everyone and especially Doc for getting the ball rolling- apologies for my absence (a combination of work commitments and Techno-Luddite tendencies)
I think it’s great that such a sad event seems to have inspired some fun and human contact - We all know 101w would approve.
Can anyone share details of an online collection or donation set-up please? The least I can do.

Mateys voice was different from what I expected, Doc's wasn't .
I don't feel too good about that statement. (Having had to record my lectures to upload, I've been forced to hear my voice and be extremely disappointed that it sounds so much worse than in my head.)
...
I truly meant nothing bad by that so dont be bothered by my statement.

Nah, never bothered. Besides, I know everyone else has been hearing my voice sound like that—the awkwardness is wholly with me.

I had a great time. Thanks to Doc and Matey for making it all happen. Some great (and silly) discussions were had. I wondered how it would be going from a message board to an actual conversation, but it was very easy. I hope we can do this again sometime.

Here's the link of the recording: https://mega.nz/file/5d8UVTzZ#EC_FTA3X3 ... SzjsKOAMC0

As mentioned in the chat, please don't contact Wally's family about it or send anything to them unbidden. They don't know any of us and it would seem Wally preferred to keep us as a separate part of his life, so we should respect that. Consider this recording something for us. Should someone be contacted by one of his family, feel free to mention its existence, but please leave it at that.

Maybe it's because I had screen sharing on, but the recording only captured the participant windows of six people at a time, so Wolter and Beaneater, who came a bit later than the rest of us, don't show up in the video (which is a shame, because Wolter was wearing a jaw-dropping Stella McCartney cocktail dress). But they were there.

Most of the video is a lot of random conversation, so if you only want to see the toast—thank you, Mayor Flex, after I put you on the spot—it's at about the 64 minute mark. There are shared observations about Wally throughout the recording, but it's pretty scattershot. The bulk is the usual IMCT jackassery, except live and ugly. Also, Kory admitted that he loves Rush, so that was unfortunate.

Again, thanks to everyone who made it last night and who have posted in one of the threads for our lost brother. We forgot to talk about a donation to the hospice that cared for him, but perhaps it's best as we'd like those who couldn't be there last night to be involved in the conversation if they wish. So we can continue that here in this thread.

Someone clearly hasn’t spent time with my Dictator cover.

I watched nearly the full thing, just skimmed through a few baseball bits. Good work chaps, it looked fun. Everyone's voice sounded exactly as I expected. Rev looked pretty fearsome, I'll think twice before arguing with him again. I think dear Wally would have approved.

I think it was Flex who said Wally would have appreciated all the baseball talk.

At the very least we all celebrated his love of the song “Paranoid.”

I’m glad my voice apparently sounded correct. I’ve let a lot of people I’ve met online down by not sounding like Foghorn Leghorn.

I'm really sorry I wasn't able to make it. Long story short, my organization was part of a lawsuit and the ruling came down last night (in our favor), so I had to work. I promise to be on the next zoom. I am so glad everyone had a nice time honoring Wally.

Just watched the first half, great stuff, really enjoyed it and wished I could have been there. Barny would have loved it, looking forward to seeing the rest tomorrow.

Just going to throw out an idea here for a future Zoom gathering—a pub music quiz kind of deal. Drinking, shooting the shit about music, and complaining about questions from [pick a decade].

Wish I could have made it. I would be down for a zoom hangout another time, just to shoot the shit with old friends.

Emphasis on old!

Love it, though this time zone business is a bastard. But if you do fancy a few afternoon wines..

A mid-afternoon for the west coast / early evening for the east coast / late night for Limeys would probably require a Saturday gathering. Probably doable for most, I would hope.
