Yeah that's a real shame as it would've been great to meet up. Still he was and is one proud pop.laxman wrote: ↑03 Aug 2021, 3:16pmI think 101W told me that her target was originally the Commonwealth Games next year in Birmingham but then she had a really good season in which she made more progress than expected, and the Olympics became a possibility, in part due to the one year delay. As far as I can tell none of the NZ pole vaulters managed to meet the minimum pre tournament qualification requirement for the Olympics, in no small part due to the lack of tournaments available to achieve the qualification.WestwayKid wrote: ↑03 Aug 2021, 1:27pmThanks for finding and sharing the article. It would be great to see her in Paris 2024... and Wally... what a truly great guy. I had no idea he had been a detective at Scotland Yard!matedog wrote: ↑03 Aug 2021, 12:35pmIt looks like she isn't competing in Japan now. Not sure if she didn't make the team/qualify or something else (injury?).laxman wrote: ↑03 Jun 2021, 11:54amI'm not sure they have named the squad yet, but fingers crossed. 101W originally thought these Olympics were a bit too early for her but obviously the postponement has changed that a bit.

101W was planning on coming back to the UK for the Commonwealth Games. :(

Reading that article from March really got to me. Barny was as amazing in life as he was on here. Seeing his daughter using his memory as inspiration is both sad and awesome. Thank you for posting the article. Miss you 101 ....matedog wrote: ↑03 Aug 2021, 12:35pmIt looks like she isn't competing in Japan now.
