It's currently -15f/-26c (-33f/-36c with wind chill) and our power just went out. Fuck.

Holy crap, that's cold no matter where you are. How are you set up for alternate means of heat? And if it's slipped your mind, open your taps to keep the water running.

And burn your furniture to stay warm.

Seriously though be safe. My brother shared similar data, he has to go out and work in it though.

Hello,

On the bright side, you won't need a fridge to keep the beer cold.

Given the predicted combination of freezing rain and high winds tomorrow, I'm wondering if our standby generation is going to get used.

Oh, and power just fired back up a couple minutes. Something like an hour without power. Got a little chilly.

And appreciate the reminder on the taps doc, it's been a long while since I've had to deal with such cold temps and never in my own home before.

That's "build an igloo" weather right there.
Glad to hear your power is back on, hope it stays that way.

Yup, three years younger than me. I've never given it serious thought, but he doesn't seem all that Xer to me (in the basic stereotypes, anyway). He gives off more of a Millennial vibe to me. Tho, to be fair, most of the Xer-like politicians I think of are complete assholes like Ted Cruz, so my radar for these things is a bit askew.

That's the handsomeness you're correctly associating with millennials 😎

I was thinking more the cloying need for approval, but whatever floats your boat. :shifty:
