I do regret a bit of my brasher and more immature posts in the first four or five years, but it is what it is.

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take; there's no I in team; we gotta stand together or we'll fall apart; and crying is for sissies unless you lose the championship game.revbob wrote: ↑08 Jan 2022, 8:17amThanks coach.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑07 Jan 2022, 6:15pmThe pros don't worry about style or ethics; they score the points and keep looking to build on the total.

The first Satch's Forums comp snohy made in 2002.
Slightly before my time, but I still recognize most of those monikers... dude_guy29 is Inder, right?

Whoa, kory was on this in 2002? Must have been pretty young too. I guess Inder and Eumaas were also teens.
What was the story behind that comp? Each person pick a song?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Re: IMCT is 20!
An incredible achievement for IMCT to still be here at 20 and a remnant of The Old, Weird, Wild West Internet of days gone by. Nothing lasts forever, but here's hoping this place comes close.
To echo what others have said: this place has been here for me as I've grown up and through many phases of my life by now. Most of the people I count as my longest and closest friends reside right here on this site (or are alumns of it, if nothing else). What a place.
Thanks, Inder, for sacrificing your own sanity on the altar of this site for us.

Incorrect. eumaas was 13 in mortal years; his Canaanite soul was 5013 years old.
