Anybody remember when Cat Stevens almost destroyed civilization?

Damn, unnecessary 10,000 maniacs slam by me in there. Embarrassing.
I appreciate it.

I dunno. That's a lot of maniacs all in one band.

I probably hate that band more than I should but...

I had one of their cd's. Not the one with "Peace Train" but the one that kinda sorta was popular.

I'll blame it on Columbia House.

Columbia House is how I once owned cassettes of both Born in the USA and the Footloose soundtrack. The struggle to find 10 cassettes for a penny should have told me not to join but, well, I was dumb.

Excellent. Dig the new album, unsurprisingly. She's verging on "sing the phonebook" appeal for me.
Same. They're my favorite contemporary pop group.
I want to, but I just can't write you out of my will, baby brother.
Both shows were great, but the Portland show was transcendent. The band are much better suited to small venues, at least from where I was standing. In Seattle, they had booked a larger theater than they had been playing up until that point and I guess there were some sound problems for Channy because they had the live automation keyed in for more intimate venues. I agreed with her that it was far too bassy. The venue was somewhat sparsely attended, which throws a lot of light on the fact that, no matter how much people like to think Seattle is a music town, it most assuredly is not. The Portland show, on the other hand, was appropriately sized (and sold out) and the sound was incredible. Channy said on stage that Portland is one of their favorite places to play because they get more love there.
They played a nice small venue in my old neighborhood in SF. I thought briefly about going to see them and probably should have.
They have two drummers, just for you.

Well you sure sound like one :shifty:

No you are correct. I met him once at a friend's party. I told him I wasn't a fan of the band.

Early Swans used two drummers (and sometimes two bassists) at a time. All the better for the pummelling.
