It was also the first birthday in years that wasn't bitterly cold outside. We've had a very moderate winter so far. High of 47 today with rain forecast. It's honestly a bit worrisome because this could mark the 2nd consecutive winter without any significant snowfall. I know we still have at least a month-and-a-half to go, but still - more rain than snow so far.

A bit late, but Happy Birthday WWK!

This has been a weird winter. I keep hoping I’ve seen the worst of it, and this has been a historically warm January so far around here. 43 degrees and rainy today, but the last part of the month is supposed to get a lot colder. Hard to know what to expect. Spring is only about 8 weeks away though.

Milwaukee is one of the coldest cities in the US - our normal daily mean for Dec / Jan / Feb is 26.9 F - which puts us 2nd to Minneapolis, but right now it's 35 F. Looks like it will drop down to 17 F a week from Friday, however. The lack of snow has been crazy. I don't want to jinx myself, but I have not pulled out the snow blower since the winter of 20-21. Growing up, we'd get dumped on throughout the winter and there would always be snow on the ground. Heck, just a few years ago we set a record for snow, but last year was dry and this year so far has been dry. We've gotten rain, but very little snow.
