Greetings After 20 Years

Post by sharoma »

Hi All,

I used to be a regular around 2001-3 when Inder and Steve Satch were running them (maybe they still are?). Anyway, just wanted to say Hello to anyone who is still here. I remember Sukwoon, Tami (just checked her URL, no response) and Adam Headland among others. I recall we used to have a lot of fun discussing bootlegs, making art and of course sharing it all. Anyone remember SoulSeek? AudioGalaxy? Inder and I used to trade songs at modem speed. It took ages but we had a lot of fun.

My Clash website has always been available, 23 years strong: https://clash.sharoma.com - all the material is still available in FLAC via a torrent, although I'm sure everyone here long ago acquired and digested it all. From 2000-2012 I sent out literally thousands of Clash CDs to people all over the world and it was an absolute pleasure. Thank you to anyone who used to converse and share back then.

Here is a fun screenshot of these forums from 2002 (as you can see, I was listening to Cut The Crap at the time using Winamp):

Anyway, I can't believe 20 years went by. I am happy to see these forums still active, especially since they predate all the social media.

Hi Robin
Glad to see your still around after all these years, And still flying the flag. I'm sure we will have traded stuff together back then. On the rare occasions i trawl through my old address books some of the old names bring back all those memories. Guy's like Dave Moon, Ezio(Evair) from Brazil,Glyn Powell and Steve Kirk, I could go on.
Hope you are well. And thanks for all you have done/did to keep the Clash flame alive.

Hi Robin

Yes I remember you though I never joined the old Satch's forum. I do recall your site though.

Hope you are well. Great to see you here.

All the best,
Marky

Good to hear from you mate. I remember the site. I'm shocked to think I will have been on this forum for 20 years in December.

Hi Robin, welcome back. I do still visit your website from time to time, the reviews of the bootlegs are really useful.

Don't mention the good ol' days. Ducks and runs for cover.
